Introduction These terms and conditions govern your use of Ummah Aid’s website and services. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. Ummah Aid is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), registered and operating under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
1. About Ummah Aid Ummah Aid is a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), with its principal office located in Scotland. Our organisation operates under the governance of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) and is committed to fulfilling its charitable purposes in a transparent and responsible manner.
2. Our Charitable Purposes Ummah Aid exists solely to:
- Prevent and relieve poverty, including supporting those at risk of falling into poverty
- Relieve financial hardship, distress and suffering amongst those in need
- Supply and provide food, clothing, essential items, equipment and services for the benefit of the public
3. Use of Donations
- All donations received by Ummah Aid are used exclusively in direct furtherance of our charitable purposes
- No part of any donation or organisational income may be paid or transferred to charity trustees, either during the organisation’s existence or upon dissolution, except where directly furthering our charitable purposes
- Ummah Aid maintains proper accounting records and prepares annual accounts in compliance with all statutory requirements
- All finances are subject to independent examination or audit as required by law
4. Governance & Accountability Ummah Aid is governed by a board of charity trustees who:
- Act in good faith in the best interests of the organisation
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with our charitable purposes
- Maintain full compliance with the Scottish Charities Act
- Manage all conflicts of interest transparently and responsibly
- Are not permitted to receive remuneration for carrying out their duties as trustees
5. Limitation of Liability
- Ummah Aid’s charity trustees, in their capacity as members of the organisation, have no personal liability for the debts or liabilities of the organisation
- Nothing in these terms excludes any personal liability arising from a breach of legal duties under the Scottish Charities Act
6. Amendments to Terms Ummah Aid reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Any significant changes to the organisation’s constitution require a two-thirds majority resolution of the charity trustees, in accordance with the Scottish Charities Act. Changes of name, purposes, or winding-up require the consent of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
7. Governing Law These terms and conditions are governed by Scottish law and the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
